Ashley Sebastian, M.D., is a primary care physician trained in the Mt. Sinai system located in Chicago's toughest neighborhoods. She feels this experience has given her the opportunity to treat many conditions such as diabetes, COPD, heart failure and chronic kidney disease.
She first became interested in medicine as a child, fascinated by how knowledgeable doctors were. However, it wasn't until she volunteered, handing out refreshments at a local chemotherapy clinic during university, that she knew for certain she wanted to pursue a career path in medicine. There, she recognized how the doctors not only treated illnesses but also provided comfort and hope to their patients, helping her realize the profound impact she could have on people's lives, and helping her commit to making a difference in the field of medicine.
Dr. Sebastian is from Toronto, Canada. Her parents immigrated to Canada from the Caribbean. Her father and grandfather were also physicians. Her hobbies include baking desserts, learning French and travelling internationally.
