About
Kristina Merino, D.O., is a general surgeon with extensive clinical, operative and leadership experience developed through her general surgery residency at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where she served as chief resident. Her clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery, foregut surgery and breast surgery.
Dr. Merino earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine located in Henderson, NV. She also holds a master’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise physiology from San José State University and a bachelor’s degree in neurobiology, physiology and behavior from the University of California, Davis.
Committed to medical education, Dr. Merino served as a clinical instructor of surgery at Northeast Ohio Medical University and has helped develop educational curricula and simulation-based training programs for medical students and residents. She has also contributed to peer-reviewed research and presentations covering a range of surgical topics, including thoracic disease, hernia repair and vascular surgery.
Dr. Merino is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Association of Women Surgeons, American Medical Association and American Osteopathic Association. She is dedicated to multidisciplinary collaboration and providing high-quality, patient-centered surgical care.
