About
Dr. Phoung Nguyen has extensive training in minimally invasive and laporscopic surgery. While she performs all types of general surgery, colonoscopies and colorectal cancer, she also has a keen interest in breast cancer surgery from a woman's perspective along with hernia repair and complex abdominal wall reconstruction.
Her interests in medicine formed during her early education in Vietnam. From a young age, she knew she wanted to learn about, to understand and to help cure sickness. When she came to the U.S. as a young teen, Dr. Nguyen discovered more modern practices and it became clear that a pursuit of the medical field was her natural calling. The doctor's priority is to make sure patients understand exactly the medical condition they are dealing with and what treatments are being offered. She believes clear and concise guidance is important to establishing a trusting relationship with one's surgeon.
